Farewell to The Sword & The Gun

Awesome, right?!? Well that's pretty much all you are going to get. It has been decided that we shelve this project. I know at this point it might not be that much of a surprise. It's not one single reason but a collection of many variables that brought us to this decision. I hope you all can understand. We all really do love this film for one reason or another. It was a great learning experience as well as a very important life experience. So many things happened during the production of this film. Things that altered many of the lives of the people involved. The Sword & The Gun is a true testament to the healing power of art. Someday it will resurface. Until that day we wish you all a fond farewell.

2011 Gaming Retrospective

It's no surprise but it's been a pretty quiet year for MMP. Some of that is due to work. Some is due to lack of motivation but a lot of it is due to gaming. I played a lot of video games this year. I played so many games this year that I killed my PS3 and had to buy a new one. Well, since I played so many games I thought I'd take a look back at this past year. Write about the good, the bad and the time dumps. While I will be talking about what game I think is game of the year and other releases from this year. It's important to know that I will also be talking about games from years past that I just got around to playing. With that being said, lets get started!

Underrated Game of the Year - Crysis 2 (2011)

An awesome game with a great story and beautiful graphics. The game play allows you to be creative and gives you many different options to complete objectives. Just watching the trailer makes me want to play through the game again.

Time Dump of the Year - Gran Turismo 5 (2010)

Since it's release in November of 2010, I have been playing this game. I pop it in at least once a week. I never get tired of racing and since the version 2.0 update things have just gotten better. Probably one of the only games worth more than the sticker price.

Favorite CO-OP/Multiplayer Game - Borderlands (2009)

I arrived late to the Borderlands shin-dig. I wrote the game off as something I wouldn't be interested in. Boy was I wrong! Playing this game online with friends has made for some fun and hilarious times. Bring on Borderlands 2 !!!

Best Remastered in HD Collection - Metal Gear Solid HD Collection (2011)

No contest! I'm a huge MGS fan.

Best Shooter - Mass Effect 2 (2011 for PS3)

Suck it Microsoft! In 2010 Mass Effect 2 broke its exclusivity with Xbox and in 2011 I fell in love with a game that I never thought I would ever play.

Best RPG - Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim (2011)

Hands down best RPG of this year and possibly ever. I've never been a big fan of RPG games but Skyrim won me over in a big way. I was nervous at first because Bethesda's last huge RPG, Fallout 3, I didn't like at all but Skyrim is different. The game is lush. It lives and breathes and sometimes you forget you are just playing a game. I'm not sure I will ever have a gaming experience quite like it again. Quickly becoming my new time dump.

Redundant, Boring or Worst Game of the Year - COD: Black Ops
Dude... does this game seem like the last Call of Duty? Bro, I just killed you. Dude!!!

Game of the Year - Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

Honestly, if you are not playing this game you have no idea what you are missing out on.

It's a rather negative and uninteresting world that I found myself spending/wasting more time in than I should. I guess I feel like it's just really fake. The excuse is that you use it to keep in contact with people... meh... I keep in contact with people I want to keep in contact with, without the use of facebook. My close friends will hear from me. I've decided to start a sort of audio/visual sketchbook. It will be a kind of simple way for me to throw some ideas together and see how they look. It will also keep me creating... I've been pretty unmotivated lately and I think this will get my brain working again. I don't know how often I'll be “sketching” but it's something I hope to do on a fairly regular basis. Anyway, here is the first entry...

The music to this piece was recorded at my old house on V Street in 2005. It was a random jam by Justin (Scraper) and Bil (BlindMouth). The video was shot out at my mom's in 2008. Shooting for The Sword & The Gun hadn't started and Jason & I were just fucking around. There is quite a bit more footage but I'm not sure it will ever see the light of day. Perhaps in a future entry...?

Hey all! I'm still around. MilkMan Pictures has been pretty quiet lately. I'm kind of taking this summer off... doing some writing. I have a couple projects I'm focusing my energy into. Hopefully one of them will be ready for next year.

Small update on The Sword & The Gun. I spoke with Clayton and it looks like he's going to try his best to get the Special Effects done and then I'll complete the rest of the film. I know at this point a lot of people have kind of lost faith in this project but believe me that we will see this film completed.

Also, I've been thinking about starting a couple other blogs. The 1st would be my long time coming PDX strip club blog. The 2nd would be a blog about my fetish film directing adventure. If you think those sound interesting or have any opinions let me know.

Chrome: The Complete Saga

I wrote Chrome as just a writing exercise about a year and a half ago. I wasn't planning on doing anything with it. I tend to do that. Just write random ideas to keep my brain in create mode. As the summer of 2010 approached. Bryn and I got the itch to get into a project since we weren't up to much. Instead of coming up with something new I thought I would take the Chrome script and turn it into a web-series. It seemed that it would be an easy thing to do and it wouldn't need to be this full time project. However, projects always demand more of your time than you think. Add lack of motivation and interest to the mix and eventually the project ultimately ended. It's been weighing on me that I haven't gotten around to completing the project. That is until now. I bring you this last piece of Chrome along with the other two episodes edited into one short film for your viewing pleasure. Enjoy!

As I look back on the project I think the first episode was really pretty good. If we had carried more momentum and had not ran into some production issues I think It could have been a good series. I also think I should have dropped the whole superhero angle and kept it a cop drama but oh well. It's just good to have this project done and off the table. Overall it was a fun project. I got to work with a bunch of new people and I think we all had a good time.

Now I move on to bigger and better things. Keep your eyes open. The blog is gonna start getting crazy. I have a big project in the works and things should get exciting!

Update Pirates Begging For Money

Hello all! I have come bearing gifts... kinda. I just recently finished a video for PDXYAR.ORG. Some of you might have seen some of the rough cut work here on my blog. Anyway, I was asked to help produce their kickstarter.com campaign video. Thought I'd post the entire thing since they won't get around to it for another few days. They are Pirates after all and rather lazy. ;-)

I think the whole project turned out rather well. Especially since it was done for free. Again they are pirates and quite cheap, so while they will reap the rewards... I will get nothing. Though I'm promised honor and glory. Anyway, take a look and enjoy. =)

UPDATE - I've been censored. Who knew that pirates were so touchy.

A New Really Short Film

Hello all!

Well it's been awhile since I've posted anything new up on the blog but it just so happens I have something for you all. Now it's not huge but it's a little something. I got inspired or maybe just drunk last night and came up with this short. It's pretty simplistic and has no real moving parts but I think it looks cool, so check it out!

In other news... I'm trying really hard to get my next feature film script done. I'm only about halfway but I'm really happy with it. I hope to have more info to you all soon. It's been awhile...

Things have been rather quiet around here. Just want to drop some text and let you all know we are still around. From what I hear Clayton has had a rather successful last few days pitching our script around to the various studios. Hopefully something great can come from that. Clayton and I have also spoke a bit about The Sword & The Gun and he hopes to get back to work on it here really soon. As for myself I need to shoot the final scene of Chrome episode 3 and then I think we'll take a bit of a hiatus on that project. I'm very busy writing what will be my second feature length film. I'm really happy with what I've come up with so far and I'm excited to get back into production. Anyway, just a little bit of an update. Hope everyone is doing well. Take it easy!

Well, we made it into the top 100 hours of footage being considered for the “Life In A Day” film. Had to get signed releases and upload all our footage to their servers. Now we continue to wait. Most people know about this already but I thought I'd blog about it just to document it. Would be pretty crazy if we made it into the film. Here is some video of that... More can be seen on my youtube page.

This weekend I will be editing the second episode of Chrome. Finally!!! I'll have that up this weekend. I know there are a few of you that are excited about that. I also have a part of Bryn's Relic Raider video to edit and another Wedding video to edit. I'm gonna be multi-tasking this weekend, editing on two machines at once. Should be fun!

Lastly, I would like to share some of my work from my actual job. Many times people ask what I do and I don't think they quite get what it is I do for Vancouver Public Schools. Well we finally got a youtube channel going and now I can share my day job with all of you. Enjoy!

Yesterday was a rather great day of shooting for Chrome. Even though one of our cast members decided to bail on us without any warning and as of yet without any excuse. We still managed to have a very successful day. The cast and crew were all on and we were able to get a hell of a lot done. Below are a couple pics of our first successful rail dolly/crane shot. The footage looks great! I can't wait to get the second episode of Chrome out.

Where does the time go?

I seem to remember having all these epic plans to be productive over my summer break and now I'm already back at work. I guess that's just how it goes. However it's not a total loss. I have managed to get some stuff accomplished.

The Sword & The Gun: This tends to be the project that is at the forefront of everyones mind. Well it's pretty much where it's been since last I wrote about it. It's hold up in the Special FX and Music stage. I know not much of an update there. Might try to shoot some additional sweeper footage one of these weekends but not in a huge rush to do that.

Chrome: Where is the second episode you ask? Well it's coming! Australia really threw us off track more than I thought it would. Money and scheduling just wasn't working for us when we returned home. Now that we have regrouped... we plan to shoot the rest of episode two and most of three in a couple weeks. So expect episode two in September. I promise! In other Chrome news, I submitted the first episode to the NW Film Festival. However I don't expect anything from that except two free passes to their festival.

InJustice Girl 2: It would seem my alter-ego has struck again. The second chapter in the InJustice Girl story line is complete. You can check out the trailer below. It was a lot of fun working with SHG-Media again. They seem rather happy with this latest vid and want more from bpd.

Life In A Day: Anyway, one of the reasons I brought up the Injustice Girl project is because we used behind the scenes footage (Shot by Nik) for our "Life In A Day" submission. If you don't know what that is you can search for it on youtube but basically we submitted 40 mins of footage to this kind of experimental film that's being made. It's being produced by Ridley Scott and it's all very interesting. You can see all the footage we submitted on my youtube channel.

Well there you have it. Just a bit of a rundown on what's going on. Again I apologize for not writing more often. I'll try to get back here sooner with some Chrome updates and hopefully some exciting The Sword & The Gun news. Take it easy!

An hour to go...

...then I turn 32.

Getting older but not much else. It's times like these that make you wonder what the hell I'm doing. This year will mark my 10 years with the Vancouver School District producing educational television programing. It's hard to even look back and realize that I've been there for so long. Hell, one of the students that use to frequent the VSD TV Studio is now a full time member of my crew. Man time flies... it can get you down. Gets you thinking not so happy thoughts... Like I may never be the filmmaker that I thought I would be. Did my chance pass me by years ago...? Do I just fill my time with what I can, grasping for moments of creativity?

I've had a pretty good year in retrospect. Lots of different productions. I have a great woman and a place that finally feels like home. I have great friends that continue to dedicate themselves to my projects. I finally left the country and went to Australia of all places. Things are not going bad... I just wish I could catch a break with my art. Starting to feel like I have no place being behind the lens. I guess that's why I hate my Birthday. Not because I'm physically getting older but because it's just another year that I let the dream slip through my fingers. The dream... How bad do I want it? Do I still want it?

Even in times of doubt I continue on. Everyone knows I don't quit. I never quit.

Chrome Launch Day

Well today, if you didn't know, the first episode of Chrome: The Chromium Doll went live. We are very excited to get this project up and running and we hope that it has some long legs. We have a lot of fun producing it and would like to keep it going for as long as possible.

As for The Sword & The Gun... well things are a bit slow. We did hold a wonderful screening for some people that had no idea what the film was about. The point was to get some early feedback and I must say I was quite surprised. Things I felt were the weakest in the film were not the problems that other people saw at all. I guess that's a good thing... right? Anyway, really got a sense that we had a good film on our hands and that we just needed to get it done. Hopefully by the end of the year... but no promises. ;)

The Sword & The Gun:
Well the 2nd rough cut is done. We went from 60 mins. to 65 mins. I'm thinking we will hit 70 mins once I shoot some more sweeper stuff. Also have some good news. We have found someone interested in doing the score for the film. Looking forward to hearing how that turns out. The film is ever so getting close to completion. We are wanting to hold a small screening for people not associated with the project. The hope is to lay some fresh eyes on the film and see if the film/story makes sense or see if it needs some adjustments. If you are interested in attending this screening please contact me.

The Fight Club Ending

So... after a glorious 6-7 hours of transferring data yesterday, The Sword & The Gun now has a new home on a brand new drive. I guess this film can add a hard drive to it's long list of casualties. All things considered... just one drive so far... that's not to bad. =)

Sometimes I think I'm loosing touch. One moment I think I have it all the next it's being blown to hell. I never wanted things to get complicated but somehow that is how i've made them. Sigh... Ya know... Sometimes I get called a douche bag and I can understand because I can take it and I know because I know what a real douche bag is. What am I doing anymore...? I just wanted to make a film. We got the production done. I shot the rough cut out and have been waiting patiently for the effects shots so I can re-edit those shots into the film. Waiting makes me feel lazy like I have no idea what to do... I don't know if it's even worth it. Sometimes I feel like I'm so close to hitting bottom. I'm so tired. One moment I think I have it all and the next... Shit...

I keep saying that I'm going to update the blog everyday but I can't seem to do it. My motivation for things lately is lacking to say the least. I so badly want to move forward but I feel like I'm stuck on a treadmill... going nowhere fast. I want to get this film done and move on to new projects but sometimes I feel like the fire is gone. I just want to close up shop and fade away. Blah... I'm just rambling... I apologize to the handful of people that my accidently read this. I need to stop complaining. I have it good. A good job. A good woman. Good friends.

The Bullet is down!!! The Silver Bullet is down...

Today one of our own has fallen. The Silver Bullet died coming off the I-5, 78th street off ramp. Had to get her towed home. Thinking it's the alternator. Gonna have DRDR take a look. Hopefully it can be repaired. The Silver Bullet has been an important part of MMP for a long time. Pretty much the first production rig. Has gotten quite a lot of mileage under her during film productions. I ask you to send some thoughts and prayers this way. The Silver Bullet shall rise again!!!

In my continued effort to blog everyday I have decided to expanded my horizons. When I have nothing to report on MMP projects I will write some of my random thoughts and opinions on various things. This just so happens to be one of those posts. ;-)

There is a film that was just released on DVD and Netflix streaming, “World's Greatest Dad”. It stars Robin Williams and is directed by Bobcat Goldthwait. This film has been on my radar and I've been wanting to see it. Tonight Bryn and I watched it. It is a truly awesome movie. If you enjoy dark comedies I urge you to check it out.

Goodbye 2009

Well here we are at the end of yet another year. Last year at this time Bil and I were feverishly trying to design the Rayne costume. We had some pretty hefty shoots lined up for the week that ended up turning out pretty well. However in the coming months we would find ourselves yet again without a film. Most of you know the story by now, so there is not much use in retreading ground.

The end of this year finds us done with the production of "The Sword and The Gun". I know we wanted to be completed with the film by years end but life got in the way. We are still working hard to get the film complete. Clayton is working hard on getting those effect shots done and I'm trying to make the film not so stilted trying to get the pacing right, as well as work on the audio. Bare with us. We will get this film done and then we'll be off to the next project.

Well as most of you know there is a rough cut of the film in existence. This doesn't mean in anyway that the film is done. We still have a long way to go. I'm currently doing a sound pass and working on a list of pick-up shots that I want to shoot soon. I'm also looking for musicians and composers that would be interested in scoring the film. So if there is anyone out there you know or anyone who reads this and is interested please get back to me asap.

Our last night together, Clayton and I decide to do what we do best... be filmmakers. :-)

...and the story goes...

I guess about five years ago now... I went to a game night event at the Lafayette building. My friend Matt (Super Ninja) invited me. He said he had a filmmaker friend that he wanted to introduce me to. Long story short the person I was to meet was Clayton. The whole night Clayton and I talked about films... or as I remember it, I ripped on his favorite film, American Beauty... which I hope at this point is no longer his favorite film. ;-) Anyway... We hit it off and eventually started talking about films and story. One night we just started developing a story around a character I had created and thus we started on our first draft of "Hero Conspiracy". Well two years later we'd have a final script to "Hero Conspiracy", I divorced my wife and I started shooting my first feature film, "The Sword and The Gun". However things weren't going well with the shooting of my first film... I was having a difficult time personally and creatively. Clayton and I had a sit down one night. We had a long talk and I decided to bring him on in the production of my film. Well through ups and downs... a year later we would complete the production on the film. It has been a long road. If we hadn't had such a strong friendship I don't think we would have lasted as friends through the shooting of the film.

Now we look to the future. Clayton has decided to move to LA. As I write this he is probably driving through California in the dark of night. He is moving on to continue the dream to keep it alive and as he does I will do my best to hold down the fort here. Good luck my friend, I'm gonna miss you, dude. I wish you all the best.

Clayton Root: For being there in a difficult time and believing in my project. This film could not exist at the level it does without you. Your constant pushing to get through the project and not allowing the negative shit to get in the way has been inspiring. I can imagine I have not be the best partner at times but I do think we complement each other well. It has been an honor and great learning experience working with you. I'll see you in post!

Justin Burton: We have come a very long way, you and I. Through some very difficult times we have managed to remain the best of friends. You have always believed in me and I promise that I won't let you down. This film is a testament to what we started some 15 years ago. You have always been a source of inspiration to me. I hope one day I can be that for you.

Dan Clark: After reading through the script some 2.5 years ago, Justin and I knew that you were Hawkins. I'm just glad you stuck with us through everything. I vividly remember the day you put pencil to paper and itched "The MilkMan Cometh". Perhaps not yet but very soon.

Jarrod Clark: Helping me through the difficult times not only with production but also situations outside of production. Giving me a safe place to call home and allow me to focus on what I needed to do. Even willing to sacrifice your time at the last minute when you were not expected to.

David Russell: Low budget mad scientist! All the toys you have created for my goofy projects have all come to use in this film. However what has been greater is your constant support. Always telling me that I would get this film made. It means a lot when the outcome looks bleak.

Nik Vaughn: Student, production partner and friend. It is crazy to think about those days of the Communications Academy and then to be here now. Your great ideas and commitment to the project meant a lot.

Matt Dean: I've only known you for a short time but your dedication to the project as well as your say anything attitude has really lightened up some difficult times. Also for being the historian of what was the making of “The Sword & The Gun”. 1225 pics... damn...

Bil Shipley: Even from a great distance a great friend can shed light on a dark time. Not many could retain the friendship we have from such a distance. Better yet to still take time out of your life and be a part of my film.

To all my family and friends, spouses and friends of friends that I haven't mentioned that in some way have helped with the project or merely gave words of support. They say the first is the hardest. Well I can't speak on that till the second but this one was pretty tough.

and last but not least...

Bryn Kristi: For believing in the film. For keeping things professional on set. For allowing me to learn things about myself. I've never met anyone like you. I am amazed at the level at which you and I share. I'm sure there are more things I should thank you for... I'll just have to do that later...;-)

Sunday is the Last day of shooting. If anybody wants to come out to Oregon City and be there for the final day you should come out. We are starting at 10am. Come out be a sweeper and have fun as The Sword and the Gun wraps and goes into post-production.

Ups and downs and up again... The shooting of The Sword and The Gun is almost in the can. It's weird to think that we have just one weekend of shooting left. Even with all the difficulties we had along the way it has been a very fun and creative learning experience. I'm gonna miss just hanging out on set and bullshitting with everyone. Spending time with the people you care about. I think that is what the picture above illustrates and what this film will come to mean to all of us.

What a day... I had hoped to get scenes 23,24 and 27 done today but it was not meant to be. Doing Sci-Fi can be a real bitch when you need society to be completely gone... Every golfer and pilot and farmer was out to day making as much noise as humanly fucking possible. We were still able to get some good shots but at the end of the day we only managed to get scene 27 done. However, things do seem to be going really well. The cast and crew seem to be having a good time and work well together. I finally finished the production schedule. It's a bit ambitious but if we can somewhat stick to it we will be able to wrap shooting sometime in July. Which means it is possible to get the film done by the end of summer... Whoo Hoo!!!

It's funny how close minded you can become over a given situation. The things you will give up and sacrafice. The wrong things you will do because you yourself was wronged. Then when you weather the storm you realize that maybe things weren't what they seem. That the people who claimed they were strong and adult really have no bearing on their own life. They wander around feeling empty and unable to be loved... I don't feel sorry for them. They won't reach out for help or support... They make the people around them who care for them feel like shit. It's a complication I no longer will tolerate. "Life is simple, You make choices and you don't look back." :-)

As for the film... Fucking awesome!!! Things are getting back up to speed and shaping up nicely. Bryn, our new actress, is doing a marvelous job. She fits in well with the team and I'm really looking forward to completing the film with her. Ok... excited to be completing the film in general! I'm just all around happy!!! :-) We shoot Sunday and I will post pics and stuff from the shoot that night or Monday.

Well Today is Saturday... a rather beautiful saturday here in the Portland Metro area. Today I took Tuxedo to the Humane Society. It went really smoothly. I am a little saddened but over all I know it is for the best. Tux deserves to have someone that can give him the attention he deserves.

In film news we have locked in out new actress. I want to welcome Bryn to our crew. Now we can get this film underway. Finally I leave you all with the pic above. It's the early skeleton of what the hive miniature. I want to thank Dave for making it a reality.

Holy Shit!!!!! WTF!!! I cannot catch a break to save my fucking life. Things just seem to get more and more out of control and just when I think I get a grip... I slip... Rather unsavory altercation with my mother last night. I just can't deal with her anymore... So tonight I move out. It's for the best. I need to work on myself and living with my mother who isn't in her right mind is not healthy for me. I really hope to put a lot of this chaotic mess behind me and return to some sort of balance.

I am so lucky to have such great friends. Lucky to have some great new friends. Lucky to have friendships I didn't think possible. This is a heavy time of retooling and redesign in my life. I thank you all for helping and being a part of that.

As for the film. We have a major casting session this Saturday. We look to have some really great girls coming out. I hope we can find a good match so that we can get this film in the can.

After a quick jaunt down the 5 Jarrod and I made it to Eugene. We hooked up with my bro for a night of Sushi, beer, dancing, pool and all around fun. It's been good to get away and meet new people. Things seem okay. I'm just kind of numb today.

Not much to mention on the film today.

I did want to mention all my friends today. They have been very supportive both with the film and with my personal issues. They have really helped keep my head above water. It's been a real difficult time for me and without them I don't know where I would be. Just want to say thank you to all of you. You know who you are.

I also want to thank, Jenny. For I still consider her my friend. She stood up and made me notice that I wasn't being the type of person I should. Though our relationship is now heavily strained I hope we can both find a way to remain friends.

Not just some girl... not to me...

Tried to get the film stuff sorted out last night. Gave Clayton the task of finding a new lead actress for the film. Man it's tough. Looking at all the scenes with Jenny in it and then knowing I'll have to shoot them over but also the reminder of it all is going to be so hard. I know if Jenny had come back to the film our chemistry would have been weird... but having to do the scenes completely over with a new girl I'd gonna be even weirder for me. I'm probably gonna be an emotional wreck... Like I am now. I see nothing but pain and suffering in the coming months.

I go up and down... Last night I was so pissed at her... She has no clue what love and happiness is and she'll never have it cause she won't work for them... she just turns and runs. The only way she will ever have them is as the tattoos she has on her arms... But I know that is not fair to say... our relationship ending is for the most part all my fault. I still feel hurt and lied to. When she said she will love and stick with me forever but how can she do that when I have been such a stupid ass. She said she would always come and find me when I got lost. Right now I am so lost... I hate feeling this way but I'm glad I've experienced it. I now know what it is to truly be in love. Better to have loved and lost than to have never loved at all... right?

I miss her. I love her. I want her back.

Though I know now that may never be.

...but we are not gonna focus on that shit anymore. Just gonna look at the positive stuff. Today we are going to look at what made our relationship so wonderful.

Jennifer & Ian:

People would say things like we looked like we belonged together.

In a lot of ways it felt like we were made to be together. I like the way she fit within me... You know when you stand next to your girl and her body just perfectly contours to your own... Same thing when you lay next to them. She even wrote a poem about it.

We were never ever bored with each other. We always found something to do or just enjoyed doing nothing together.

We were honest with each other. Didn't lie or keep things from the other.

We could talk about anything... Looking back we actually had really good lines of communication.

We were always laughing and having fun. Whether out to dinner at home or just walking around.

The sex was awesome. I don't think either of us could deny that it is the best sex we've ever had.

We share a lot of the same interests or are interested in what the other finds interesting.

We enjoyed trying new things together.

I think most importantly we were happy together and very much in love.

Yeah... I prefer thinking about the good stuff...so much more to choose from. :-)

This past weekend...

Shooting went really well on Sunday. We were able to pull off a rather difficult scene that Clayton and I had been cooking up for awhile. It was a bit of work but the shots worked and Clayton cut a rough of the sequence and it looks really good. It's not really a scene that was in the orginal script but since there isn't a lot we can shoot until we know if/when Jennifer returns... Anyway, we've just been trying to put things in the film to make it even better. I really hope she comes back to the film and that we aren't all just wasting our time...:-/

As for Jenny... I don't know... I feel like things are just getting worse and nothing has really happened. She won't really reply to my e-mails anymore and when she does she just sounds like she is full of anger. I know she says that I don't come up much in conversation... But it can't help to have a support group that totally hates me... You would think that even a close friend would play devils advocate. Even some of my support group have told me that maybe I should move on... or asked me how long will I wait...

I promised her I would love her forever... I told her I would work on myself and wait for her. Until she tells me she doesn't want anything to do with me I will continue on this path. I've never been truly in love until now and I don't know how anyone could ask me to just switch it off... She may decide to never see me again... and I'll have to burry that love somewhere but I'll never be able to turn it off... nor would I want to.

However you want to look at it... It was on a Friday a year ago that Jennifer and I would meet up for the first time. Nervous and not knowing what to expect I arrived at Gustav's for Happy Hour. It was Jennifer's idea to go there. I arrived before her and waited to be seated. I really didn't know how the evening would go. We had known each other for a long time but we had always been shy and didn't speak much to each other. It had been years since I had seen her but what would we talk about...? Catch up on family stuff and then sit quietly and eat our food... That was a fear but how quickly things change...

As I was waiting... Starring at the floor I raised my head to the front doors of the restaurant and in she walked. In that very moment I fell in love. It's difficult to think about now giving my current circumstances but I just knew right then that I should throw all expectations and assumptions out the window. That night proved to be one of the greatest moments in my life. We talked and laughed for hours. When it came time to say goodnight I don't think either of us wanted it to end. I think we both played it very safe that night but I think we also both found what we had been looking for.

Now we flash ahead... Present day and the mess I have made. Being the sentimental type I so badly want to ask her out. As if the meaning behind this day would give us some sort of blessing. That we could return to each other and just leave the past behind us and move forward. I am ready for that. However, I know I can't be the one who initiates anything at this point. I just stand right here on the precipice... waiting... ready... for now that is the only thing I can do.
